Warning: This web at toLearn.net/marketing/ is two years old, it's unattended, and the links are rotting. However, in June 2000, the server recorded over 10,000 page requests during more than 3,000 visitor sessions from dozens of countries. Thus, I'm reluctant to take it down completely.

Link to TALK (discussion forum) Over the coming weekend after our first week of class, please rank yourself on each of these ten objectives. Note the "better able to". How able are you now? Use a 1, 2, 3 system: 1 = I'm not very able, 2 = I sound like an expert, 3 = I am an expert.
For example, let's say you have a job interview next week and get asked, "Tell me about a couple of the forces shaping the Web and how they might affect our marketing." How able are you to respond?
Let's say that the interviewer hands you a mouse and a laptop with an open Web connection. "Here, go find ... " How confident are you that whatever the interviewer wants, if it's out there, you'll find it quickly?
On the vocabulary question, we've been very careful about introducing jargon, especially computer jargon, on these pages. Some of the links, however, go to pages that are full of jargon. At a minimum, you should understand all the marketing and new media terms used on the course web (everything with a URL beginning toLearn.net/marketing/).
